This is the Part 2 of this post. If you have not read the Part 1, visit here and read it.
A Quick Recap:
In Part 1, we discussed these 6 things:
Publish Now: Consistency is your superpower
Engage Actively: Your network is your net worth
Master Thread Hooks: Capture attention ruthlessly
Use Twitter Analytics: Data drives decisions
Reuse Content: Maximize every great idea
Create a Content System: Turn creativity into a science
Today we are going to continue from #7.
7: Follow, Observe, and Learn from Creators
Your Network is Your Growth Engine
Following the right accounts is like having mentors—who constantly update their playbook.
Here is my Strategic Following Framework (SFF)
If I am new to Twitter and want to grow an audience, here is how I would like to follow accounts with different audience sizes:
10-30 Small Accounts (1K-10K followers)
Fresh perspectives
Emerging strategies
Relatable growth journeys
10-30 Medium Accounts (10K-50K followers)
Established strategies
Consistent content systems
Proven engagement tactics
10-30 Big Accounts (50K+ followers)
Advanced monetization techniques
High-level networking insights
Industry trendsetters
Why Diversify Your Following?
1. Learning at Every Stage
Small Accounts: Raw, unfiltered innovation
Medium Accounts: Consistent execution
Large Accounts: Strategic sophistication
2. Engagement Strategy
Don't just follow—interact
Leave meaningful comments
Share genuine insights
Build authentic connections
Pro Creator Observation Tactics
What to Watch For:
Hooks that stop scrolling - Learn why a thread goes viral
Content structure - How he/she has arranged the content flow.
Engagement patterns - Find what kind of tweets get more engagement, and what time he/she posted.
Monetization approaches - Find and learn from calls to action (where they are driving traffic)
Networking techniques - Find who are they interacting with, replying… etc
Red Flags to Avoid:
Avoid pure hustle/motivation accounts
Seek genuine value creators (go with personal accounts rather than theme page accounts)
Look for creators who share actionable insights (valuable threads, and tweets consistently)
Prioritize those who demonstrate real expertise (find what they have achieve so far)
Your Action Items:
Audit the current following list
Diversify across account sizes
Create a learning spreadsheet / Swipe file
Engage meaningfully, not randomly
On Twitter, who you follow determines what you learn, how you grow, and ultimately, your potential.
8: Twitter Lists - Your Secret Networking Weapon
Imagine having a superpower that cuts through the Twitter noise, giving you instant access to the most valuable conversations in your niche.
That's the magic of Twitter Lists.
Why Lists Are a Game-Changer
The Twitter List Advantages:
Bypass algorithm limitations
Create specialized content feeds
Streamline strategic engagement
Develop targeted networking approaches
Two Strategic List Types
1. Knowledge Lists:
Purpose: Curate accounts with specialized expertise
Create lists by topics:
AI Technology
Marketing Strategies
Content Creation
Specific Niches
2. Engagement Lists
Purpose: Strategic Networking
Accounts you want to actively engage
Potential collaborators
Influential creators in your space
Potential clients or opportunities
How to Build Powerful Twitter Lists
Curation Strategy:
Add 20-40 accounts per list
Regularly update and refine
Mix of different follower sizes
Engagement Workflow:
Create specialized lists
Check lists daily
Leave meaningful comments
Build genuine connections
Pro Networking Tactics
List Creation Principles:
Create lists that provide genuine value
Think like a curator, not a collector
Each list should have a clear purpose
If you want to learn more about Twitter Lists I have written an extensive post here
Your Action Items:
Create 3-5 strategic lists
Spend 15 minutes daily engaging
Track meaningful interactions
Refine lists monthly
Bonus Pro Tip: Some creators make their lists public. This can itself become a form of valuable content that attracts followers
9: The Tools I Use
In the creator economy, your tools are your superpowers. The right tools don't just save time—they multiply your impact, creativity, and reach.
The Power of Strategic Tools
Automate repetitive tasks
Gain strategic insights
Maximize content potential
Reduce mental friction
I use 3 tools mainly for creating content and curation.
As you know now, curation is a huge part of creation.
Tool 1: Typefully
I use typefully for creating content, from drafting tweets/threads to scheduling/publishing.
It offers me:
Drafting
Scheduling/Publishing
Multi-account management
Multi-platform publishing
Performance Analytics
Easy reuse of my content
Tool 2: Twemex
Generally, Twemex replaces Twitter's search bar with an enhanced version.
You can still use it just like a normal Twitter search, but results show up immediately as you type. (Type Cmd+Enter after entering a search if you want to show the full Twitter results page.)
In addition to instant results, Twemex also adds handy shortcut keywords:
/me searches just your own tweets. Use this to write threads!
/follows searches just tweets by people you follow. Use this to find knowledge on any topic from people you trust and respect.
/user searches just tweets from the user you're currently viewing. A great way to mine the archives of someone's ideas!
/list searches just tweets from the list you're viewing.
/from:<username> searches tweets from a particular user. /to:<username> searches replies to a particular user
To install Twemex to your browser, visit here
Why Twemex is a Creator's Secret Weapon:
Instantly find top-performing tweets
Analyze creator content strategies
Chrome extension for seamless research
Uncover hidden content gems
Tool 3: Notion
As you know now, I am a big fan of Notion.
I use Notion to manage my daily tasks.
Creating content and curation is a big part of my daily routine. So Notion is an everyday tool for me.
Your Action Items:
Install the Twemex Chrome extension
Set up Typefully account
Create a weekly scheduling system (I use Notion)
Track content performance using Twitter Analytics
10: Identify Your Creator Family
Most creators make a critical mistake. They chase giants while overlooking their most powerful allies—creators at their exact stage of growth.
Your "creator family" isn't about follower count. It's about shared values, mutual growth, and genuine connection.
Why Peer Networking Matters
The Collaborative Ecosystem:
Mutual support
Shared learning
Cross-promotion opportunities
Emotional support in the creator journey
How to Find Your Creator Family
If you can provide value people like you will approach you, that is how I built mine.
Also, it is okay to send a DM saying how happy you are or how helpful someone's content is. When you are DMing for the first time don’t ask for follows. (this is very unprofessional)
If you are trying to build a connection, this can be your:
Core Connection Criteria:
Similar follower range (±5K followers)
Aligned core values
Complementary (not competing) niches
Growth mindset
Genuine curiosity
My Tactical Approach to Networking
DMs are just one tool for networking.
Actually, that is the last option for me. Before DMing someone, I would engage their posts, like, comment, repost… requote their tweets.
Networking Psychology (think about the points below)
Relationships > Transactions
Authenticity beats strategy
Long-term thinking wins
These are the Red Flags I would Avoid:
Forced interactions
Transactional mindset
Networking only for personal gain
Inauthentic engagement
This is how I would work to uplift my networking:
Identify 10-20 potential peers (I would put them on a separate list)
Engage consistently
Build genuine relationships
Remember: Your network isn't a numbers game. It's a value ecosystem.
