Build Your Message Stack & Align Your CTAs with Intent

The reason most content doesn’t convert has nothing to do with writing skill.
It’s not that your copy is boring.
It’s not that you’re missing the “perfect” CTA button color.
It’s that you’re saying the right thing… to the wrong people.
Here’s the truth:
Great messaging isn’t about being louder.
It’s about being precise.
Creators often pour their best ideas into posts, threads, or emails…but the content falls flat.
Not because it’s bad, but because it doesn’t match where the audience is in their buying journey.
👉 A cold audience doesn’t respond to “Buy now.”
👉 A warm audience doesn’t need another “free guide.”
👉 A hot audience doesn’t want a long essay… they want the link.
Today, we’ll fix that.

How to build your Message Stack so your words meet people where they are.
How to align your CTAs with intent so you stop losing conversions you’ve already earned.
Build Your Message Stack
Your Message Stack is your marketing brain.
It’s how you speak directly to your audience’s beliefs, problems, and desires.
Think of it as the foundation:
Hooks → how you grab attention
Transformation → what you promise
Belief Shifts → what they need to believe before they buy
Let’s break each down.
1. Hooks → Meet Them Where They Are
Hooks are not just clever lines.
They’re entry points into the conversation already happening in your reader’s mind.
The best hooks connect to:
A common frustration
A desired result
An unexpected insight
Examples:
“You don’t need a big audience to sell digital products.”
“This is the system I used to grow from 3K → 75K followers with no ads.”
“If people aren’t buying, it’s not your product. It’s your messaging.”
When I write hook especially for X threads, I try my best to connect the hook to the above 3 points (frustration, desired result, unexpected insights).
💡 Tip:
Your best hooks are hiding in plain sight…check your most engaged tweets, replies, DMs, or email responses.
2. Transformation → Sell the Shift, Not the Stuff
People don’t buy “4 modules” or “12 lessons.”
They buy the shift your product creates.
They want:
Clarity
Confidence
Momentum
Simplicity
A new version of themselves
Try this fill-in-the-blank:
“After using my product, people go from [current state] to [desired state] and feel [emotional benefit].”
Example:
“From aimless tweeting to clear content strategy and finally feeling confident promoting their work.”
3. Belief Shifts → What They Must Believe First
Before anyone buys, they need to believe three things:
The problem is real and urgent
There is a solution
You have it…and it’s for them
Reflection Exercise:
Write down 3 beliefs holding your audience back from buying.
Next, brainstorm 1 piece of content that helps shift each belief.
Example:
Belief: “I need a huge audience to make money.”
Shift: Share proof and stories of creators earning with 500 or 1,000 followers.
Align Your CTAs with Traffic Intent
Ever feel like people read your stuff… but don’t click?
It might not be your offer.
It might be that your CTA doesn’t match their mindset.
Your audience isn’t one blob.
They show up with different levels of awareness and intent.
And your CTA has to meet them right there.
Here are the 3 types:
1. Cold Traffic (Unaware or Lightly Aware)
Intent: Browsing, curious, uncommitted.
Best CTAs:
“Follow for more like this”
“Read the full guide here”
“Grab the free resource”
Think: No friction. Low ask.
2. Warm Traffic (Problem/Solution-Aware)
Intent: Exploring, considering, comparing.
Best CTAs:
“Join the free email course”
“DM me if this is you”
“Comment ‘yes’ if this resonates”
Think: Engagement + education.
3. Hot Traffic (Product-Aware / Most Aware)
Intent: Ready to act.
Best CTAs:
“Enroll now”
“Buy here”
“Last chance to join”
Think: Direct offer + urgency.
Putting It All Together
Let’s say you post this message:
“Most creators don’t need more content. They need a system that sells what they already made.”
If your audience is cold → CTA: “Here’s a free guide to build yours.”
If they’re warm → CTA: “Join my 5-day email series where I walk you through my content funnel.”
If they’re hot → CTA: “This is the system I teach in my course. Enrollment closes tonight.”
👉 Same message.
👉 Different CTAs.
👉 Way more effective.
✅ Your Action Steps
Now it’s your turn to put this into practice.
1. Build Your Message Stack
Write 3 Hook ideas that meet your audience where they are.
Write 1 Transformation statement using the “from → to → feeling” formula.
List 3 Belief Shifts holding your audience back and plan 1 content piece to address each.
2. Audit Your Funnel & CTAs
Look at your last 5 posts, emails, or landing pages.
Ask: What stage of awareness is this audience in…cold, warm, or hot?
Check: Did my CTA match their intent, or was it too early/too late?
3. Make Adjustments
Cold → Add “follow me” or “grab my freebie.”
Warm → Use engagement CTAs (DM, comment, free email series).
Hot → Point them straight to your product or service.
Small tweaks like this will save you from losing conversions you’ve already earned.
You don’t need louder content.
You need clearer messaging + smarter CTAs.
When your words meet your audience at the right stage of awareness, conversion stops feeling like “convincing”… and starts feeling natural.
That’s the real shift.
Most creators don’t fail because they lack ideas.
They fail because their ideas don’t line up with where their audience is in the buying journey.
Fix the alignment, and you’ll see more clicks, more sign-ups, and more sales…with the content you’re already creating.
