In the past, this kind of thing is what always derails me because I'm asked to do something that I then have to go down multiple rabbit holes, (search, watch 10 YT videos of which nine don't help) to figure out what it is and how to do it. Then I struggle to get back on the original track. So can I do this or is this just a pipe dream?

You can do this... you don't need to know everything... I have more simpler roadmaps..
